CPC was awarded the engineering and procurement (EP) contract for the inclusion of a gravity circuit and gold room into the Mt Carlton Gold/Copper plant.

The new gravity circuit comprised of a 30” Knelson concentrator, vibrating scalping screen and CS1000 Acacia Leach Reactor.  The secured ventilated gold room was located adjacent to the gravity circuit and housed the electrowinning cell, calcine oven, smelting furnace, gold room utilities and cyanide detoxification of the spent liquor.  New sodium cyanide, sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite reagent mixing, storage and distribution facilities were also part of the scope of work.

The work under contract was completed over an 8-month period.
