CPC were contracted by First Quantum Minerals for the engineering design of all non process infrastructure (NPI) to support the 85Mt/a Cobre Panama Mine and Processing Facility. The scope was split into Port Area Infrastructure and Mine Area Infrastructure.

Port Area NPI design included buildings, fuel offloading/storage/dispensing, lime storage facility, water treatment/storage/distribution, conveyors associated with the final copper concentrate storage at the port and conveyors for the coal fired power station. Full architectural and engineering design were completed for the port administration building, shift changeroom and ablution block.

Mine NPI design included mine buildings, an emulsion plant, mine facilities (114 x 60m heavy vehicle workshop), HV mine vehicles washdown bay, bulk fuel storage/distribution, bulk lube storage/distribution, miscellaneous plant buildings, overland pipelines (diesel, water, concentrate) and access roads. Full architectural and engineering design were completed for the mine administration building, training building, changeroom, ablution block and the security/gatehouse.
