CPC Engineering appointed EPCM contractor for Mt Bundy Gold Project processing plant
CPC Engineering has been awarded the EPCM contract by Primary Gold Pty Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hanking Gold International Limited.
CPC’s scope covers the engineering, procurement, and construction management of the wet plant at the Mt Bundy Gold Project in the Northern Territory, including grinding, gravity recovery, organic blanking, leaching and adsorption, elution, electrowinning, and the gold room.
CPC will manage procurement for the wet plant on behalf of Primary Gold and will also oversee the interface between the wet plant and the adjoining processing facilities, supporting coordinated delivery across the broader project.
The project is scheduled to progress through engineering completion before April 2027, with wet plant commissioning targeted for early 2028 and first gold production planned for the first quarter of 2028.
The Mt Bundy Gold Project is a significant development for the Northern Territory, with the construction of the processing plant and planned mining activities expected to create up to 400 jobs and provide economic and employment opportunities for the local and wider Territory community.
The processing plant site has now been cleared, and initial earthworks are underway, with detailed engineering, earthworks, concrete works and equipment procurement progressing as the project moves into its construction phase.
CPC Engineering Chief Executive Officer Glen Weir said the company was proud to be appointed EPCM contractor for a project of such significance to the Northern Territory.
“Mt Bundy is an important project for the Northern Territory, with the potential to generate significant employment and economic activity while establishing a new gold operation in the region,” Mr Weir said.
“CPC Engineering brings more than 55 years of experience delivering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and maintenance services to the resources sector, with particular expertise in mineral processing.
“Our role as EPCM contractor places CPC at the centre of coordinating the wet plant’s delivery and its interfaces with the broader processing facility.
“We look forward to working closely with Primary Gold and the project team to deliver a safe, practical and high-quality processing facility and support the project through to commissioning and first gold.”
Hanking Gold International Limited Executive Director, Chief Executive Officer and President Dr Qiu Yumin said the award of the EPCM contract was a major step in the development of the Mt Bundy Gold Project into a gold-producing mine.
“The award of the EPC and EPCM contracts for the processing plant construction is a major step in the development of the Mt Bundy Gold Project into a gold producing mine,” Dr Qiu said.
“We appreciate the firm commitment made by CPC Engineering as an experienced Australian contract company with a strong track record in mineral processing to deliver this exciting project on time and on budget.
CPC Engineering’s appointment continues the company’s involvement in the delivery of major mineral processing infrastructure across Australia, building on its integrated capability across engineering design, procurement, construction management, commissioning, and asset support.
