CPC Engineering is closing out 2024 with a couple of big contracts to stuff in its sack before the new year.
The West Perth-based outfit announced on Thursday it had secured work in WA's booming gold sector with global giant AngloGold Ashanti and mid-tier miner Capricorn Metals.
The jobs are worth $24 million. CPC will provide engineering and design services for a new pre-oxidation and leaching circuit of flotation concentrate to improve gold recovery at Anglo- Gold's Sunrise Dam mine near Laverton after already working on the project's feasibility study.
Capricorn Metals appointed CPC on a fixed-price contract to design a new processing plant capable of handling about 5 million tonnes of ore a year at its Mt Gibson mine in the Murchison.
The proposed plant design includes a crusher, ball milling with a gravity gold system into a traditional carbon-in-leach circuit. Once operational, the mine is expected to have a lifespan of at least 17 years.
WA's gold sector is basking in the glow of a 30 per cent rise in the spot price of the precious metal this year.
