Throughput Program (2012)

Client: CBH Group (CBH)

In 2012 CPC Engineering was engaged as the preferred supplier to carry out numerous mechanical works to improve operational efficiency for CBH operations throughout Western Australia.

As part of the CBH group’s Throughput strategy the works were delivered to upgrade tonnage rates on conveyors to improve inloading and outloading periods and provide the most efficient path to Albany and Esperance Ports.

The work was completed at approximately 20 CBH sites throughout south eastern and western parts of Western Australia.  The scope of works involved conducting conveyor upgrades through removal of the existing 600mm wide conveyor and installation of a new 900mm wide CLS system.   The project involved working with a broad range of modified site drawings featuring various conveyor system layouts.

CPC worked with a surveyor and undertook variation works to correct fabrication issues and relocated the conveyor to complete works to client approval.  The project was completed during high volume operational activity and crews worked around mobile, heavy equipment including grain trains, grain road trains and front end loaders causing excessive dust conditions.

CPC Engineering provided the following services and personnel:

  • Project Management: OH&S Management
  • Workshop Fabrication: QA / Variation Works
  • Surface Treatment: Transportation
  • Cranage, rigging and EWP
  • Boilermakers, riggers and trades assistants
