Feasibility Study

Overview

Following the successful completion of the pre-feasibility study in 2015, CPC proceeded with the definitive feasibility study for the project.

The study investigated the relocation of the pressure oxidation circuit and the counter current decant (CCD) wash circuit located within the existing Macraes process plant, to a new plant location for a new 3 Mt/y Gold Plant, a new 1 Mt/y Tungsten Plant and all associated process plant infrastructure.

The tungsten plant presented a degree of novelty in the selection of process routes from a high grade concentrate to an alkali pressure digestion to produce a sodium tungstate product which in turn is treated by solvent extraction or ion exchange to produce an ammonium paratungstate (APT) product.
