Rod Davies
General Manager Project Design
Rod Davies has over 29 years of operations, project development and delivery experience both in Australia and overseas. During his career, Rod has managed and supported client operations and developed small and medium sized projects through to major project delivery.
His extensive experience covers engineering, feasibility studies, commissioning management, and operations in commodities including copper, nickel, lead, industrial minerals, iron ore and minerals sands.
Rod obtained a Bachelor of Science in Extractive Metallurgy from Murdoch University in 1989.
Gavin Nowrojee
Project Development Manager
Gavin Nowrojee is an experienced project manager with over 23 years’ experience in engineering design, project management, site construction and commissioning of mineral processing plants.
He has been involved with the development of a number of projects of varying in size and complexity, including:
- Gold: North Mara, Cowal, Macraes, San Gregorio, Sissingue, Didipio and Nimbus Silver
- Iron Ore: Mesa J, Tonkolili, Marillana and Hamersley Iron Operations
- Base metals & other: Lumwana copper, Stockman lead/zinc, OCP phosphate wash plants, Balama graphite and Spinifex Ridge molybdenum
His international experience extends to working in Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Zambia, Tanzania, South Africa, Uruguay and Cote d’Ivoire.
Gavin is an important and senior part of the CPC Project Design team and has been with the company since early 2012. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree from UWA and a Post Graduate Diploma of Extractive Metallurgy – WASM.
David Fielder
Engineering Manager
David Fielder has extensive years of engineering and management experience both within Australia and overseas (Australia, Africa, Mexico and Mongolia), in a number of commodities including gold, copper, lead and zinc.
His expertise covers engineering design packages for stakeholders to ensure time, quality and cost targets are being met, ensuring the project has a strong constructability focus on safety at the same time. David also has experience in various statutory mining regulations and national standards, for example, AS, ANSI/ASME, SABS, IEC, ISO, BS and etc.

- Alcoa Kwinana filtration facility
- FMG Solomon B60 project
- Mungari gold project
- Boseto copper
- UHG coal handling plant phase 1
- Guelb Moghrein 3.8 Mt/an expansion project and tailing regrind upgrade
- Coyote gold mine leach tank upgrade
David is an Engineering Manager and was educated at Curtin University where he gained a Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical.
Richard Perrett
Design Manager
Richard Perrett has over 30 years’ experience in the design of minerals processing plants in gold, base metals, copper, and minerals sands.
He has undertaken projects throughout the world, including South Africa, Australia, Zambia, Mozambique and the Solomon Islands. Richard has been responsible for the development of plant layouts for the majority of projects during this time and for overseeing all drafting deliverables.
Examples of projects on which he has worked are:
- Gold: Plutonic Gold, Union Reefs, Goldridge, Carosue Dam, St Ives, Chalice, Paulsons, Randals and Higginsville
- Base metals & others: Pilbara, Golden Grove, Greenbushes, Sally Malay, Emily Ann/Maggie Hays, Sinclair, Forrestania, Rasp, Enterprise and Balama graphite
- Iron Ore: Brockman and Christmas Creek
- Grain: CBH grain handling facilities
Richard has a diploma in Mechanical Engineering from SKF Engineering in South Africa and he has been with CPC Project Design since 2011.
Ken Bowness
Group Commercial Manager
Ken Bowness is CPC Engineering’s Group Commercial Manager with over 30 years of experience in all aspect of project management especially procurement and contract management including the preparation of contractual and technical procedures, and systems.
He has worked on projects with a variety of commodities including gold, nickel, zinc, copper, lead, tin, iron ore, graphite and rare minerals. Some of the projects with which he has been involved include:
- Balama graphite project
- CBH – Esperance
- Southern Ports Authority
- Lake Johnston operations, Ravensthorpe nickel operations and Windarra nickel project
- Tropicana gold project, Granny Smith gold mine, Cowal gold project, Telfer gold project, Macraes gold mine, Granites gold project, St. Ives gold mine, Sunrise Dam gold mine, Carosue gold mine, Plutonic gold mine and Gawalia gold mine extension
- DeGrussa copper project, Hemerdon tin project, Extension Hill hematite project, Gorgon project, Superpit, Angas zinc project and Emily Ann project
Ken holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) – Civil at the University of Salford in the UK and has worked in Australia, New Zealand, UK, Mozambique, Ghana and the Solomon Islands. He joined CPC Project Design in 2012.
Gerard Major
Project Manager
Gerard Major is a professional engineer with 17 years of experience in the delivery of minerals resource and municipal waste to energy projects, both in Australia and internationally.
He was worked in Africa, Australia, China, Europe, Noth America, Philippines, New Zealand and United Kingdom.
Notable project includes:
- Gold: Thunderbox, Telfer, Reefton, Macraes, Jinfeng, Granny Smith, St Ives and Agnew
- Copper: Kansanshi, Sentinel, Cobre Las Crusces and Cobre Panama
- Nickel: Mt Keith, Yakabindie, Enterprise and Ravensthorpe
- Base Metals and Iron Ore: Mt Garnet, Yarrie and Guelb
- Renewable energy and waste treatment plants: Eastern Creek, Thornton & Leyland
Gerard holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical). He began his career with CPC Project Design in early 2013.
Daniel Pantany
Project Manager
Daniel Pantany is a Project Manager with over 16 years’ experience in the resources sector.
Daniel has worked on projects involving a variety of commodities including gold, nickel, mineral sands, copper, uranium, graphite and iron ore (hematite and magnetite) within Australia and internationally.
His project management experience encompasses all stages of project development from concept to completion and includes study management, estimating, design management, procurement, expediting, quality management, planning and scheduling, budget establishment and control, change management, contract management and construction.
His experience covers a range of delivery methods including EPCM, lump sum EPC contracts and working within joint ventures.
Notable projects include:
- Cobre Panama project
- Kansanshi S3 sulphide expansion project, Southdown magnetite project DFS
- Solomon project DFS and FEED
- Sino Iron project
- Lumwana uranium project DFS and Lumwana copper project
- Gingin mine development
- Various projects at the Leinster nickel operation, St Ives gold heap leach project and the Geita gold mine project
Daniel has a degree in Civil Engineering from UWA and has worked in Africa and Panama as well as Australia.
Sean Supanz
Consultant
Sean Supanz is experienced in mechanical and project engineering in a variety of sectors, including gold, base metals, tantalum and diamond processing facilities.
He has extensive experience, with over 26 years in engineering design, project delivery, management, site construction and commissioning of mineral processing plants. Sean has been involved in a number of brown field projects, debottlenecking and upgrading them whilst the plant has been predominately operational.
Some projects on which he has worked are listed below:
- Concentrators: Enterprise, Degrussa, RASP, Cosmic Boy, Ridgeway, Palmarejo, Rio Narcia, Guelb Moghrein and Cobre Las Cruces
- Filter Plant – Diamond: Ekati and Argyle
- CIL/CIP: Sons of Gwalia, Boroo, Phu Bia, Mt McClure, Randalls, Higginsville, Target and Macraes
- Gravity: Greenbushes, Wodgina and Christmas Creek de-sands
- Other: Simberi rope conveyor, Windimura vanadium and upgrade projects at Ravensthorpe nickel
Sean has also worked in various locations in Canada, Spain, Mauritania, Zambia, South Africa and Papua New Guinea.
He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Curtin University and has been with CPC Project Design since 2011.
