Nimbus Plant and Infrastructure Phase 1 Feasibility Study
Client: MacPhersons Resources Limited
MacPhersons Resources Limited (ASX:MRP) awarded the feasibility study of its 100% owned Nimbus Silver-Zinc-Gold Project to CPC Engineering in November 2012.
CPC’s scope of work is to provide engineering and study management services for the delivery of a feasibility study and front end design pertinent to the Phase 1 development at Nimbus. Design works include the process plant and project infrastructure. The scope includes the compilation of capital and operating cost estimates and the overall management of the feasibility study report.
The 480,000 tpa Nimbus process plant will be designed to initially treat silver and gold ores throughout the first phase. The plant design will enable expansion for phase 2 works to enable processing of primary ores.
The phase 1 process plant consists of the following facilities:
- Primary and secondary crushing
- Milling
- Leach
- Counter current decantation
- Merrill Crowe silver/gold recovery circuit
- Cyanide recovery
- Tailing disposal
- Infrastructure
The study and capital cost estimates is a combined effort between CPC’s Project Design office in Perth and the CPC’s Goldfields division in Kalgoorlie. Stage 1 works will include a mix of new and refurbished equipment.
CPC Goldfields have extensive experience in the refurbishment and relocation of plant. A number of pieces of equipment owned by MacPhersons Resources will be refurbished in CPC’s Kalgoorlie workshop prior to installation at Nimbus. CPC Kalgoorlie based construction teams will be employed to reduce mobilisation.
