Frog’s Leg Primary Ventilation Fan
Client: La Mancha
In November 2011 CPC Engineering was contacted to provide the initial engineering review on the upgrade of the primary ventilation fan requirements at the Frogs Leg mine site. The Project Design division produced the study and initial fan options, creating 2D drawings and 3D models. Following on from this review CPC was engaged as the project engineers to oversee the entire project including the civil, electrical and mechanical design and installation.
Mine and Tunnel Ventilation was successful in supplying the ventilation fans, Hahn Electrical the electrical installation while Petro Min Engineers was sub-contracted to assist with HV submission, protection settings and arc studies.
The CPC Underground division began work on the civil installation in October 2012 and is scheduled to complete the mechanical install in November 2012 on delivery of the fan to site.
The co-ordination of the entire project and liaising with the various sub-contractors, vendors and the client to ensure the project schedule was maintained, budgets were adhered to while maintaining the quality and safety for the project including construction of the installation within an operating pit. All of these elements have been achieved on this project.
