Installation of Esperance Water Main
Client: John Holland Pty Ltd
In 2012 John Holland Pty Ltd was awarded the Design and Construction contract to complete a major upgrade of the Esperance Port Access Corridor in Western Australia. The $120 million project was jointly funded by both State and Federal government and commenced in 2012.
John Holland engaged CPC’s Ravensthorpe division to reroute and install the Esperance Main Waterline to realign 1.8km of Harbour Road in Esperance and approximately 1.3km of the existing single track railway via a railway tunnel to enter Esperance Port. The Esperance Port Access Corridor project is expected to support the town of Esperance and Esperance Port, providing an efficient road network whilst removing congestion between freight and community traffic.
The installation was delivered by CPC Ravensthorpe forming part of the major upgrade to the Esperance Port Access Corridor with initial temporary installation commencing in late October and work completed in early 2013. The detailed scope of works demanded simultaneous coordination of scheduling interfaces across multiple work fronts and critical time management to minimise downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
The CPC team completed works within tight delivery timeframes and under the Water Corporation’s stringent Quality Assurance guidelines and standards.
